RE0F09A (JF010E) for large displacement 3.5L engines and RE0F10A (JF011E) for engines below 2.5L displacement.
The 3.5L Nissan QUEST we are familiar with is the JF010E gearbox.
Maintenance experience shows that they enter the normal maintenance period after reaching a certain mileage.
The failure of the valve body is related to common shift quality problems.
The CVT's shift change should be continuous, but when its transmission belt and pulley fail,
It will cause problems such as tremor and abnormal noise,
The operation of transmission belts and pulleys has a lot to do with the oil pressure acting on them.
These hydraulic controls are completed by the valve body.
JF010E is equipped with a larger engine displacement,
Its oil pump is also prone to insufficient output pressure of the oil pump.
As a result, the pressure of the transmission chain to drive the pulley is insufficient, and problems such as chain slippage, delay in entering forward gear and entering reverse gear occur.
We all know that its torque output is very linear at low engine speeds.
And this linear stability is very important for CVT,
This is the reason why CVT cars with medium displacement and above are equipped with low-revving engines.
The higher the engine speed, the greater the fluctuation of its torque output.
In addition, insufficient oxygen supply itself will interfere with the linearity of engine output,
This kind of torque fluctuation is the most feared by CVT and will greatly increase the probability of failure.
Therefore, it cannot be used as a manual transmission or a normal AT, otherwise the probability of CVT failure will increase significantly.
