  • Condition: This magazine is in good used condition. Covers and internal pages secured by staples and are rusted. Covers show surface wear with soiling/stains, edge nicks/small tears and corner tip creases. Internal pages pages are age-toned/tanned with soiling/stains, edge nicks and corner tip creases. All pages are present. Pencil notation on page 3.

    Description

    This is the winter number edition of the Penrose Dress Cutting Quarterly published in December 1903. This magazine is Volume 4, number 16. Published by O. E. Penrose, Quincy, IL. O.E. Penrose was proprietor of The Penrose Dress Cutting and Dress Making College located in Quincy, Illinois. His wife was the principal instructor. The first internal page provides information about the college such as terms of tuition, the various classes offered and testimonials. The remaining pages provide patterns with instructions (photos show all pages of quarterly). Only a handful of advertisements are printed. Magazine measures approximately 8.75" x 11.50" with 14 pages. This quarterly magazine is complete with no missing pages.
    I seldom use the term "rare" but after exhaustive research unable to find another issue that sold or is available for sale. I have two more issues that I will put up for sale soon. Magazine will be a great edition to you antique sewing collection!
