VINTAGE JAPANESE HAND CARVED HARDWOOD NETSUKE HORSE on HIND LEGS

Description

Hand Signed, Hand Carved Japanese Animal Netsuke of a Horse sitting on it's hind quarters (legs), in Hardwood. It is beautifully detailed. Rich, Dark Brown, tightly grained wood. The Horse's head is turned behind it and it's mouth is open, somehow communicating. There are two holes drilled on back to slip a cord through and make this a hanging pendant (or attached to the sash of a kimono). Figure is in Very Good to Excellent condition as we believe they were produced in the Mid 20th C. It comes from a collection from a retired USAF Colonel (Surgeon). Great addition to your set of netsukes!
Figure measures 2" Tall X 3/4" Wide X 1 1/8" Deep.
